How It Works & Benefits
- Double impact: Gives nearly twice the amount of red blood cells as a whole blood donation in a single visit.
- Time commitment: Takes about 90 minutes, which is roughly 30 minutes longer than a standard whole blood donation.
- Donation frequency: Allowed every 112 days (16 weeks), up to 3 times a year.
- Target blood types: Best suited for donors with Type O, A negative, or B negative blood.
Eligibility Requirements
- General: Must be in good health and feeling well.
- Men: At least 17 years old (in most states), minimum 5’1″ tall, and weigh at least 130 lbs.
- Women: At least 19 years old, minimum 5’3″ tall, and weigh at least 150 lbs.
