Below is a copy of an email sent to the South Texas (STX) ARRL members who subscribed to receive it.
Subject: ARRL STX Website Good afternoon, With some hard work from our website administrators and a few helpful hints from several members of our STX section. I am proud to announce that the new ARRLSTX.ORG website is up and running. It is probably one of the worse kept secrets this year, but it has a new design, with a lot of new features. This site is designed with all the members in mind, as well as all Amateur radio operators in the STX section. We wanted to give back to section, and in a big way. With the new format, all who register on the site has a chance to post an article, add designs, review an article before it is posted, or become someone who just reviews an article prior to it being published. That is right, you heard me. This new site is mainly for all the Amateurs in the STX, literally. The new system is based on a point system. The more you login, post, or create the more points you get. The more points you get, the more positions it opens up for you. The admins and myself will no longer be the main ones who post to this site. The admins will mostly just provide support to the site itself and make sure it is running as it should. It will be up to all the members, EC's, DEC's, and Affiliated Clubs to provide content. As well as become Contributors, Authors/Writers, Graphic Designers, or Publishers. All of the information for the site is on the site itself. There is a link to the STX Info Depot (ARES), SEC reports, and several other sites too. All of the Affiliated Clubs in the STX Section are also listed with their contact info. We also have a link to the Groups.io for STX, and even a FCC DB on our site that is searchable. Under the WEBDEV menu there is a guide to help with getting an article posted, or with any of the previously stated positions. Since this is a point based system - we have a challenge already put up by our site administrator. The first 3 users to earn 333 points on the website will win a Baofeng Mini. The site admin will cover the cost of the radio, and shipping. For all of the Affiliated Clubs, we only have 6 clubs registered on the site (you have to register on the site as a club). We need to have all our Affiliated Clubs registered on the site. This is the site we would like for each club to post everything about your club, and their events. Tell us about your meetings, nets, picnics, training, tailgate/hamfests, public service events, and share your newsletters. Our site admin wants to interview all our Affiliated clubs and post the interview on the site for all the hear. We have the greatest Section in all 71 sections of ARRL. It is now time for all of us to show it! So if you have not done so yet, go to the site: https://www.arrlstx.org/ and click on the Login button to register.
