STX ARES Discussion Group Usage Guidelines
Happy New Year!
January is time for a refresher on the Groups.io usage guidelines for this email group. There is a list of DOs, followed by a list of DON’Ts. If you have questions, feel free to e-mail the Groups.io Moderators at; main+owner@stxares.groups.io
*When posting to the STX ARES Groups.io group DO:*
* Keep it polite (we are VERY good at this).
* Keep it on topic – anything ARES is okay. It’s also okay to talk about things that are not ARES radio, if the majority of the community would find it interesting. Emergency Communications, weather, and go kits are great examples of off-topic subjects that are welcome here.
* Stay in the “Subject” line. If a new topic off-shoots from an old one, please change the subject line.
* Feel free to post! Don’t be shy; you are welcome here.
* Sign your post. Use your NAME and CALL SIGN. Do not assume everyone knows you.
* For-sale items are welcome here but it may be best to post them to the For-Sale-or-Want subgroup ( https://stxares.groups.io/g/For-Sale-or-Wanted )
* Questions – if you have radio, antenna, feedline, grounding, wiring, electronics, software, or interfacing questions, ASK! Questions are welcome here.
* Radio, software, and electronics-related problems are welcome here – if other ARES members need to know it, post it!
* Remember to keep it fun and polite.
* If the whole STX Section doesn’t need to know maybe you should join some of the Sub-Groups listed on our Groups.io Home Page ( https://stxares.groups.io/g/main )
* Speaking of Sug-Groups, check that your Meetings, NETS, and Special Events are listed correctly on their Calendar.
*These things are NOT welcome on the STX ARES Groups.io group:*
* Rude or hateful language.
* Insults.
* Adult content.
* Racial, ethnic, religious, political, or national slurs.
Let’s have a great year of fun and learning with ARES and Amateur Radio!!!
