The ARES Standardized Training Plan, also known as the Task Book, is used to track and document your ARES training. Simply download the Task Book and fill in the blanks as you complete your task, and have your Emergency Coordinator sign off on each task completed.
ARES Standardized Training Plan:
- ARES Standardized Training Plan Task Book [Fillable PDF]
- ARES Standardized Training Plan Task Book [Word]
Note: If your version of the ARES Task Book is a little different, don’t worry. Continue with the one you have, as all of the data ends up in the same place.

Noticed a “typo” in the description. In the sentence that begins with, “In the”… the word “begging” I believe should be “beginning” instead…
I’ve downloaded the task book. Personal opinion. All of us need these skills. Next challenge is to complete the book. Thank goodness I have NIMS 300 and 400. That was a long class. Fortunately I attended a class with military and DPS. The instructor made it interesting.
