The SAM HOUSTON AMATEUR RADIO KLUB (SHARK - AI5M) serves as the ARES group for District 1 Liberty County.
The Shark club repeater also serves as the Cleveland area SKYWARN net

All licensed Ham operators who are interested in joining the group and become a ARES member are asked to contact a member of the club or Al Andrews N5WWS
In the event of an emergency the Liberty County ARES / SKYWARN group can be contacted/monitored on the following frequencies.
LIBERTY COUNTY ARES FREQUENCIES

146.900 repeater, - offset, No Tone If the repeater is down and unusable, then the second frequency will be
146.900 simplex, all VHF equipment should have these frequency's programmed, if the net is unable to pass traffic on the primary or secondary frequency then the net will switch to the HF bands, first primary for HF will be
7.280 (40 meters) the secondary HF frequency will be
3.860 (80 meters), as an alternate the 10 meter frequecy will be
28.450 (10 meters)
The net will remain active as long as the emergency exists.
The Shark ARES Net is after the club net every Thursday night at 8:00pm C.D.T.
146.900 (-) NO TONE N5AK (you do not have to be a member to call into the Net)
In addition the Shark club advises all interested parties to monitor the following:
Texas ARES Net, Monday 7:30 pm 3.873 mhz LSB
7290 Traffic Net, Mon-Sat 10:00am - 12:00pm
Mon - Fri 1:00pm - 2:00pm (Central time)
The Shark club meets every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7:30 in Cleveland, Tx. Location of the meeting
