Angelina County now has a second RMS Packet node on the air.  It is located in Lufkin, Angelina County, in ARES® District 2.

Thanks to Kris, K5KRK, and the Angelina County Emergency Management team, the new node was put on the air on 145.070 MHz.

The call sign is K5KRK-10 and is operational running 50 watts into a GP-6 antenna at 85 feet.

This node will supplement the existing W5IRP-10 node in Lufkin which operates on 145.050 MHz running 75 watts into a DB-224 omni antenna at 240 ft.

Both systems run 24/7 and both are equipped with emergency power.
